In this picture I wanted to capture what it felt like to be in a seaside town. I decided to make the photo more of a POV of what it might be like to be one of the people who lives here. I showed some details of the boat without worrying about capturing the whole thing, just enough to give a sense of what it would be to stand there. The sky and the water are in the background as well as a bridge far in the distance, showing several details that capture what the experience of being in Newport, OR might be like.
The slanted skyline really adds to the "on the water" feeling of this photo. Idk if that was intentional or not... But nice.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cantered horizon line illustrates the perspective of a boat dweller. I also like how the dark clouds towards the back help create deeper space because the boat is always wanting to go out.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting subject, and I love the shore and bridge off in the distance. Having lived some time in Oregon, I think you did a nice job of capturing the peaceful gloom that resides there.
