Photo #1

When I took this photo, I had our discussion of Ansel Adams' work in mind. I was trying to capture the beauty of this lookout spot in Eugene, OR. The mountains and the town are beautiful from this spot, but it was difficult to capture with the limitations of my iPhone. I realized that by trying to emphasize deep space, I could better capture what I was experiencing. When I passed by the plaque I realized it could help give me the depth I was looking for. I also enjoyed that the people in the photo are enjoying the view because by proxy they show my appreciate for this spot as well.

  1. Something in the clouds is overexposing and softening the image... It looks celestial. Nice.

  2. Even though this piece is from a while back, you do a wonderful job of incorporating what we learned in class today, the creation of deep space. There are great layers.

  4. I actually went up this same mountain over the summer, but the picture I took from the peak was very different from yours. I just shot a photo of the town and mountains from the view up top, but I like that you focused more on the plaque. It gives the image more of a sense of place and individuality, whereas mine is much less specific. Neat contrast!
